因此对于高龄低位直肠癌患者，直肠癌低位切除术，不但根治了肿瘤，还最大可能地保留了肛门括约肌的功能，它强调了人本主义和人文关怀，提高了患者的生活质量，在临床上取得了很大的成绩。只要准确掌握适应证，遵循无瘤原则，正确选择其各种术式，不失为治疗中、下段直肠癌的最好的手术方法之一。
