④/免/未使/ ｍóｕ＠①通去”。但是台湾话的“无”、“未”、“否”、“ｍóｕ＠①”等，完全不能或
不能单独在命令句中使用。“ｍóｕ＠①”除等同判断句外还可用于其他语境中，只是等同判断句中要求出
现的否定词只能是“ｍóｕ＠①”，而不能是其他否定词。
很明显，从语义上来看，“无”的意思是“没有”，“未”的意思是“还没有”、“否”的意思是“不
”，“ｍóｕ＠①”的意思是“不要”，“ｆò＠③”的意思是“不能”，“ｆｉàｏ＠②”的意思是“不
想（要）”，“ｆò＠③”的意思是“最好不”，所以他们用得是否恰当也明显地受制于他们的语义。
更为重要的是，所有台湾话否定词的句法和语义功能是一系列历史演进的结果，这一演进使他们保持目
前这种状态。没有人能解释为什么台湾话至今保持了20个古汉语否定词中的6、7个，而在官话中，除两个与
台湾话不同的否定词外，其他所有的否定词都被舍弃了。同样，没人能解释为什么相竞性变化和其后的选择
会造成如此不同的成分和结构。为什么官话否定在词汇上进一步中和，并且在正反问句中句法上也出现进一
步压缩？作为一种语言观察，对这一点我们所能得出的唯一结论是：不同程度的中和以及压缩看起来发生在
汉语方言的发展过程中，其实这些现象被视为发生于语言变化中的语言简化方式的一部分。不过要证实或推
翻这一结论，只有通过其他语言的研究才能实现。
